Hi
My computer is Asus laptop with build-in webcam, run on windows xp media centre. After installing DirectX, Freetrack 2.1, select camera, click start, error message come up as following. when I set camera to I420 setting No combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection. ($80040217) with I set camera to RGB24 setting The operation can not be performed because the pins are not connected. ($80040209) - this message came more 3 or 4 with different end number. Could you please let me know is it a camera or window problem? thanks |

Does your webcam work in any other programs?
Try reinstalling your webcam drivers (make sure they're the right ones and up-to-date) Make sure you've got the latest DirectX 9.0c (November 2007). |

Thanks for the advise. I have updated the webcam driver and DirectX.
BUT I tried all different setting in "Stream" in Freetrack. When I set to I420 mode whit different output size, it all came up the errar same message as above. When I set YUY2, only work with the biggest output size 1280x1024. If I set any smaller then this, it will automaticly close the FreeTrack. And it run very slow with this setting, take 50% of CPU power. Any idea?? p.s. the built-in webcam is D-MAX Cl Camera came with Asus Laptop. |

I have got the setting only working with YUY2, 1280x1024. If I use any setting smaller then this, the Freetrack will crash. The only downside is it take 40% of my CPU process to run the program. Will the size of output 1280x1024 slow down that much of computer?
Core2 Duo Processor T5500 1G Ram NVDIA GeForce 128MB 1.3M Megabyte Pixels (D-MAX Cl Camera) I have a feeling that Freetrack doesn't like the D-MAX camera driver. Do you think it is good idea to get a cheap webcam and run it in 320x480 output setting with this computer spec? Thanks |

YES! It is huge burden on your system, you don't need more than 352x288. USB also has difficulty handling resolutions higher than 640x480 at 30fps but your webcam may be connected differently. Download DirectShowFilterManager: http://www.free-codecs.com/DirectShow_Filter_Manager_download.htm Execute it and click on Troubleshooting -> 'Restore standard DirectX codecs' Make sure the FreeTrackFilter is in the 'DirectShow filters' list and that the AVI Decompressor has Normal merit You could also try downloading GraphEdit and join the filters together yourself. Video Capture Source -> FreeTrackFilter -> VideoRenderer. http://download.videohelp.com/download/graphedit9060822.zip |

I tried all your suggestion above but the I420 will not work.
I then tried somting else rendomly and it is working now. I changed my graphic card display setting from 2380x800 32bit color to 1024x768 16bit colour, run freetrack with YUY2 352x288. I don't know why Thanks for help. After setting up 3point setting and click "simconnect fsx". Then I run fsx, what do I need to setup inside fsx to get it work? |

It working now
I just need to disable the MaAfee firewall. It is amazing work that you have done. Big thanks. --- Any idea that why I need to reduce display card resolution before I run Freetrack? |
